    Registered Nurse General Surgery - RN, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL


    We are accepting resumes for full time Registered Nurse to work at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, FL ambulatory care. 


    Position Schedule:

    • 40 hours / week
    • Outpatient
    • Monday - Friday
    • No Federal Holidays
    • No On-Call
    • 0700-1600 or 0730 - 1630

    Possess ability to acquire and use basic computer skills to enter patient data and extract patient’s
    information, from a variety of sources to include Composite Health Care System (CHCS), Armed
    Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (ALTHA), Aeromedical Services Information
    Management System (ASIMS), Aeromedical Information Management Waiver Tracking System
    (AIMWTS), and Physical Examination Processing Program (PEPP).



    Core Duties:
    • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
    • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
    • Perform physical exam and health histories.
    • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.

    • Prepare and administer medications, perform wound care and numerous other personalized interventions to include electrocardiogram.
    • Perform phlebotomy for platelet rich plasma injections.
    • Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.
    • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
    • Provide task specific training to other healthcare professionals.
    • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.



    Must have:

    • Associate’s of Science in Nursing.
    • Graduate from a
      college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting
      Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education
    • Current, valid Registered Nurse License from any US jurisdiction
    • Basic Life Support (BSL) certification
    • Five years of experience in nursing.
    • Must have at least two years of experience in inpatient and outpatient surgical nursing. Skills should include preoperative and postoperative counselling, wound care, telephone triage and surgical case management, including arranging for home health and disability paperwork
