    Responsibilities

    Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal duties: The duties will be performed in accordance with established procedures and protocols, within the scope of practice. Duties include but are not limited to the following:


    o Obtain/Label Specimen collection
    o Finger stick blood glucose testing
    o Blood withdrawal
    o Saline lock
    o Initiate/Assess/Discontinue intravenous therapy
    o Intraosseous
    o Collect Cord blood collection
    o Catheterization of the bladder

    Qualifications

    • Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
    • Must have successfully completed all education and training requirements leading to and graduated from an accredited national, state or military equivalent school for Vocational Nursing
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Fetal Heartrate Monitoring (FHM), Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certified
    • BLS
