    Schedule:

    0600-1800, 1000-2200, 1300-0100 or 1800-0600

    Weekday, weekend, and holiday services shall be rotated with other CMAs, and it is anticipated that the HCWs shall provide services every other weekend and on no more than 5 federal holidays

    Responsibilities

    • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, draw blood, and start IVs.
    • Prepare patients for X-ray.
    • Instruct patients about medications; prepare and administer medications as directed by physician and MTF guidelines.
    • Notify patients regarding labs and other tests as directed.
    • Participate in inventory procedures as directed.
    • Coordinate with other departments and clinic staffs to provide complete care to patients.

    Qualifications

    • Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
    • Possess a minimum of one year of full-time experience in the last three years as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting.
    • Possess certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants OR registration by the American Medical Technologists OR the American Registry of Medical Assistant OR National Center for Competency Testing OR  OR a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces.
    • Provide three letters of recommendation from practicing providers, supervisors or program administrators attesting to his/her professional skills, competencies, patient rapport, etc. Reference letters must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference. Letters of reference must have been written within the preceding two years.
