    • Cognitive and skills training/assessment; and moderate sedation experience with a minimum of 100 sedation cases.
    • Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments and experience in assessing pediatric, adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate. Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
    • Knowledge of a wide range of pain disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments, as appropriate.
    • A working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations.



    • Bachelors of Science in Nursing and current RN certification.
    • Associates Degree of Nursing; Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
    • Minimum of two years’ experience with at least one year in a critical care area of four or more beds. One year of experience must have occurred within the last 24 months.
    • Discharge Planning-A minimum of 3 years for ADN/2 years for BSN full-time experience in clinical case management or discharge planning for adults, children, families, seniors and groups
    • Disease Management-Experience: Experience. Six years of broad-based clinical nursing experience is required with three years of progressively increasing managed care
      responsibilities with a focus in Disease Management. Experience with disease management, clinical practice guidelines, performance improvement, and personnel management required. Full time employment in a nursing field for at least 12 of the last 18 months is mandatory. Possess a thorough clinical knowledge and breadth of experience to be able to contribute to population level assessment and management, identify appropriate use of CPGs, conduct patient self-care education, and track patient outcomes. Extensive knowledge of DM components: outcomes measurement, collaborative practice, CPGs, patient self –management, population identification processes, and process improvement
    • Utilization Management-Experience: Must have at least 36 months of total nursing experience in a direct patient care clinical setting. Must have utilization management, utilization review or case management experience for 24 recent consecutive months.

    Certified/certification eligible in relevant specialty, such as Certified Managed Care Nurse through the American Board of Managed Care Nurses or Certified Informatics Nursing, Ambulatory Care Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing or Nursing Case Management through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
