    Registered Nurse -Project CARE: Comprehensive Aesthetic Restorative Effort, Navy Medical Center Portsmouth, VA!


     


    GiaCare,  a GiaMed Resources Member, is looking for an experience Registered Nurse to work for Project CARE.


     


    Program description:



    • " Project C.A.R.E. provides medical services to service members suffering life altering injuries, to include limb loss and severe disfigurement. The mission is to provide emotional support along with surgical and non-surgical care in an effort to improve appearance and restore function."

    • Supports Navy Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP), Virginia

    • Interdisciplinary Team approach to Patient care

    Typical Schedule:



    • Full time 40 hours: 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts

    • Monday - Friday, between the hours of 0600 - 1800

    • No on-call requirements!

    • May work some Federal holidays

    Responsibilities


    • Perform a full range of RN duties in accordance with assignment under the task order, including: triage; patient assessment and monitoring; use of patient monitoring and treatment equipment; appropriate nursing care, procedures, and treatments; execution of physicians’ orders within the guidelines of standard nursing practice; documentation of patient care and observations; and patient education and emotional support

    • Assess & perform triage duties

    • Provide treatment & discharge instructions

    Qualifications


    • Services entail a combination of surgical and non-surgical treatments, along with an emotional recovery plan to include mental health counseling, support groups or both.


    • Possess a minimum of twenty-four (24) months within the preceding thirty six (36) months providing nursing care to individuals suffering traumatic, life altering injuries, to include limb loss and severe disfigurement.




    • Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing, from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).




    • Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in any one (1) of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
