    We are currently accepting resumes for Clinical Psychologist to provide medical services at the Department of Defense Military Health System (MHS), Dyess AFB, in the Abilene, TX area in anticipation of an upcoming government contract award.

     

    0700-1700 from Monday through Friday

    Responsibilities

      • Must possess the ability to independently: Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide psychosocial treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diversified backgrounds.  Provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, and families.  Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment.  Evaluate own practice through participation in a professional peer review case conferences or other organized means.
        • Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Responsible for and applies psychological procedures and techniques, including interviewing, behavioral assessment, evidenced-based therapies, and psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing, in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological and neuropsychological disorders.  The following are desirable skills:
          • Individual, family and group psychotherapy, and couples therapy, alcohol and drug treatment evaluations.
          • Consults with medical personnel, legal authorities, military commanders and school districts, as required.
          • Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Mental Health records and inpatient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
          • Participates in military specific training (e.g., training to perform Command Directed Evaluations, security clearances, Military Training Instructor clearances, pre-post deployment screening, PTSD, and combat stress)

    Qualifications

     

    • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited psychology program. 
    • Shall have completed an APA accredited internship/residency in professional psychology.
      • Have a minimum of three (3) years within the past five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical pshychology in a mental health setting working with an adult population, or with children and teens if specifically working with that population.
       
      • Maintain a current, unrestricted clinical license to practice clinical psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. A clinical psychology license is defined as a license that allows the Clinical Psychologist to practice independently without clinical supervision.
